A Diary of a Woman from the Middle Ages

The light is low however I realize I ought to record this. I have some material left and some ink. The sentiments were overpowering. I need to allow everything to out. I trust I had a few brushes and paint with me rather, so I can truly show how I feel. This was my first day in the palace as an associate cook for the Baron. I am nevertheless a worker who figured out how to peruse and compose upon my request, with the assistance of the ward priest. The Baron had the option to taste my cooking when he visited the little bar I worked for with his men. His visits got visit, and each time he requested my extraordinary pork stew. It went to a moment that I however that my plans couldn't have been that bravo to be dependent on it. Apparantly, he was. One night, as he happily cheered with his men, he murmured to me that he might want to recruit me as a cook in the castle.Back at that point, I thought the Baron wanted me. To be his escort? I don't trust I could understand that. He gave off an impression of being content with his family. I didn't perceive any purpose behind him to just meander to free skirts. Not that my skirts at any point came free. As custom, I wedded at an early age. In any case, as destiny would have me, it won't let me carry on with a long existence with my significant other, who kicked the bucket of a disease. God, favor his soul.Looking at the faã §ade of the stronghold, I have frequently thought about how it was inside. Upon that initial step, I implored God to favor the Baron for finding my stew such a blessing. From the start, I accompanied him since I believed that there were no what other place for average citizens to go to. So I got a handle on the open door despite the fact that I was uncertain of when I concurred myself into. The within the mansion was unquestionably a fantasy for me. The carvings and the high roofs got me marvelous looked at as I viewed the fastidiously made manifestations move toward the evening sunlight.I likewise reali zed today, that the Baron was genuinely kind, and he needed to have my stew on my first night in the family unit. The woven artworks, furniture and the individuals working and living inside the dividers of this structure were a serious amazement. Who might have felt that this day and age would have made such pleasant people? When allowed to be more than one of the stronghold cooks, I will solicit one from the companions I made today to show me around. The Baron himself advertised. He is such a strange individual. I denied it, obviously, thinking that I ought to have myself settled first for his supper. By the joke alone, I accept he previously foreseen the taste and the fragrance. Truly unusual.Second Entry:One of the Baron’s girls, I learned, had an energy for painting pictures also. Be that as it may, the extent that I am mindful of, painting is one of those artworks viewed as a humble activity. I didn't imagine that the Baron would permit his little girl to apply such exert ion for something they can arrange another to do. What are average people for?But when I hold on to watch my woman, I saw that she delighted in painting pictures, and her procedure enhanced the dividers of the manor. So she was the craftsman behind all these. I have painted a couple of my thoughts, yet being the ordinary person that I was, with harsh garments for day by day wear, I didn't dream of ever being simply the painter I can envision as.Third Entry:My woman discovered me seeing her campaigns put away in her make move studio. The second she strolled in, I felt the blood channel from my face. I bowed down on the two knees and balanced my head for pardoning. She didn't utter a word yet strolled to me until I could see the toes of her shoes directly before my face. I truly figured she would rebuff me. I had no privilege being in her studio in the first place. But she tenderly positioned her palm on my head and inquired as to whether I might want to attempt to paint an image. I qu ickly disclosed to her that I am not meriting regularly contacting their property. I said that I ought to be rebuffed. Be that as it may, my woman twisted to contact my unpleasant and humiliating hands and drove me to a clear canvas. A paint brush was set between my fingers and she motioned my to plunge its tip on some paint she had redied. With her delicate hand over mine, she motioned the brush to just slide a delicate slant down a canvas.I nearly felt how such a straightforward stroke over a vacant space could change a great deal in me. I used to paint by utilizing the most cheap supplies in light of the fact that there was minimal expenditure to try and remunerate food. However, in the mansion, no body was denied of food. My woman even allowed to utilize it. Eureka!Fourth Entry:Few days went since my woman permitted me to utilize her brushes just because. I turned out to be progressively greatful to God who permitted my way to cross with the sort hearted Baron. To take note of m y sentiments, I painted a little piece for God. It was a symbolic I felt that would please my Creator. I was not roused yet appreciative. That was my driving force. The Baron’s little girl lauded my piece and I become flushed. I never envisioned that a respectable individual could have commended such a plebeian as myself. Their family was certainly an odd blend of heart, soul and minds. I didn't think anything else could have astounded me. But there was! It appeared as though a quip to me when she unexpectedly picked up enthusiasm of my past. She inquired as to whether I had a family. There wasn’t much that I could recollect. I was destined to a helpless family, and my folks passed on account of an excessive amount of difficult work and little food. I don’t know why my woman requested subtleties that I accept she would have known from the start. Then she took a gander at me with such pitiful eyes, and I understood that her eyes weren’t that open to the re al world yet. I quickly attempted to comfort her, when it appeared it ought to have been the opposite way around. She cleaned her tears with a bit of material square and requested that I proceed with the story. With a murmur of torment at the token of adored, I revealed to her a portion of the things about my marriage. Like a large portion of the young ladies of this timeframe got hitched at such an early age. In any case, I figured out how to adore my significant other anyway. My woman shed a greater amount of her tears and I nearly snickered at her face. She didn’t need to, truly. She didn’t need to feel sorry for my story. However, with the help of the material square, she gazed toward me with clear eyes and said that she thought as much when she took a gander at my drafts and little masterpieces. She demanded that I painted with her by the nurseries when she did. It caused her to feel guaranteed that there are as yet the individuals who shared her enthusiasm. Toward the finish of each meeting, we would take a gander at each others’ work and remark about the activity done. Who might have felt that an ordinary person could ever encounter the sentiment of being equivalent with the respectable groups of this nation? This family is certainly uncommonly kind.

Research question †How many molecules are there in a liquid drop? Essay

Factors †Free factor †The nature of the fluid drop. Subordinate variable †Mass of fluid drop. Constants †* Concentration of the fluids * The volume of a drop * Temperature of the fluids Theories and forecast †The heavier the fluid utilized for example a fluid with a high relative molar mass, the more the quantity of particles per drop. I anticipate this as the RMM (relative molar mass) is the proportion of the mass of atoms that make up a mole of a substance, and consequently the higher the mass is, the more the quantity of particles there must be. Hence, the fluid would have increasingly number of particles per unit volume when contrasted with one with a lower RMM, remembering a similar focus is taken. Contraption †1. Estimating scale, in grams (à ¯Ã¢ ¿Ã¢ ½ 0.01 g) 2. Dropper 3. Container, 50 ml 4. Refined water 5. Glycerine 6. Ethanol 7. Ethylene glycol 8. Tissue paper Strategy †1. We gathered the mechanical assembly required and estimated the mass of the 50 ml container. We called it m1. 2. Utilizing a dropper, we put 20 drops of water in the measuring utencil. We estimated the mass of the measuring glass + water, and called it m2. The mass of the 20 drops of water was found by deducting m1 from m2. The appropriate response was separated by 20 to discover the mass of one drop of water. 3. We rehashed stage 2, with water, utilizing 40, 60, 80 and 100 drops. This made the analysis increasingly exact for example gave an increasingly exact mass of the water drop. 4. at that point, we rehashed stages 3 and 4 with the three different fluids †ethanol, glycerine and ethylene glycol. 5. Qualities were noted down. Further counts were made utilizing the mole condition †Number of moles = What's more, additionally utilizing Avogadro’s consistent, where the quantity of atoms in a single mole of a substance is 6.023 à ¯Ã¢ ¿Ã¢ ½ 10㠯⠿⠽㠯⠿â ½. Controlling, shifting and checking the factors †> The free factor was shifted by utilizing not one, yet four distinct kinds of fluid. These were †refined water, glycerine, ethanol and ethylene glycol. These fluids have distinctive relative sub-atomic masses. > The difference in the reliant variable were checked by utilizing an estimating scale to watch the adjustment in the majority of a similar number of drops when various fluids were attempted. > The controlled factors were kept steady:- (an) All the four fluids had a similar centralization of 1 mol/dm㠯⠿â ½. This was important as an adjustment in the fixation creates an adjustment in the quantity of moles of the fluid in the drop. (b) The drops were the entirety of similar sizes, and thus of a similar volume. the volume was saved consistent by utilizing a similar dropper for every preliminary, and moreover, by applying a similar weight (from the fingers) to the bulb of the dropper. (c) The temperature of the fluid was important to keep consistent as even insignificant changes in temperatures can cause a fluid to extend or contract, changing its volume. The test was completed at room temperature, for all preliminaries. The temperature of the environmental factors was unaltered all through the examination for example the temperature of the climate control system was not adjusted. Gathering applicable and adequate information †Prior to the trial, a few preliminaries were executed so as to get an essence of the analysis and perceive and change any blunders. Instances of mistakes incorporate applying various measures of weight on the dropper bulb, giving us drops of various volumes. We likewise saw that occasionally, pretty much drops were included than required, because of not watching great or tallying the quantity of drops being placed into the measuring glass cautiously. We revised this by giving more consideration to the quantity of drops being placed into the measuring glass. These mistakes were made right and taking preliminaries before the test guaranteed we had a progressively exact, precise and applicable analysis. We likewise chose to accept the mass as the reliant variable, rather than volume, as we were furnished with an estimating scale which was significantly more precise (à ¯Ã¢ ¿Ã¢ ½ 0.01 g) when contrasted with even the most exact estimating chamber (10 ml, à ¯Ã¢ ¿Ã¢ ½ 0.1 ml). This diminished the general vulnerability of the hardware utilized and consequently the general blunder of the trial, and made the information progressively applicable and certain. Then again, it was ensured adequate information was gathered as we took five distinct preliminaries (20, 40, 60, 80 and 100 drops) for every one of the four fluids, just to average it down and get the mass of one drop (for every fluid). Besides, we estimated the majority of high quantities of drops ex:- 60, 80, 100 drops and so on as the higher the quantity of drops, the lesser the mistake vulnerability. The standard deviations of the midpoints of each arrangement of drops has not been determined, as it isn’t the last worth required (for example the normal mass of one drop is the last worth required). I have adjusted those midpoints to three decimal spots (rather than one) as the qualities are extremely little. The normal mass of one drop has been adjusted to indistinguishable number of spots from the standard deviation, that is two critical figures. The figurings are appeared on the accompanying page. Counts †* The midpoints have been determined the accompanying way:- For instance, taking the qualities for water = = = 0.0634 = 6.3 à ¯Ã¢ ¿Ã¢ ½ 10㠯⠿⠽㠯⠿â ½ (to one dp) * The standard deviation for the midpoints have been discovered in the accompanying manner:- 1. First the normal of the qualities have been found. Taking the case of the estimations of water the normal is 6.3 à ¯Ã¢ ¿Ã¢ ½ 10㠯⠿⠽㠯⠿â ½ g (0.0634 g). 2. At that point, the distinction between each perusing and the normal was found. That is: 0.058 †0.0634 = - 0.0054 0.059 †0.0634 = - 0.0044 0.065 †0.0634 = 0.0016 0.067 †0.0634 = 0.0036 0.068 †0.0634 = 0.0046 3. Next, these distinctions were squared (so as to expel any negative signs): (- 0.0054)㠯⠿â ½ = 2.916 à ¯Ã¢ ¿Ã¢ ½ 10㠯⠿â ½5 (- 0.0044)㠯⠿â ½ = 1.936 à ¯Ã¢ ¿Ã¢ ½ 10㠯⠿â ½5 (0.0016)㠯⠿â ½ = 2.56 à ¯Ã¢ ¿Ã¢ ½ 10㠯⠿â ½6 (0.0036)㠯⠿â ½ = 1.296 à ¯Ã¢ ¿Ã¢ ½ 10㠯⠿â ½5 (0.0046)㠯⠿â ½ = 2.116 à ¯Ã¢ ¿Ã¢ ½ 10㠯⠿â ½5 4. These squares were then included, and the entirety was isolated by (n †1), where â€Å"n† is the quantity of qualities. = 2.13 à ¯Ã¢ ¿Ã¢ ½ 10㠯⠿â ½5 5. At last, the square foundation of this number gives the standard deviation of the normal: = à ¯Ã¢ ¿Ã¢ ½ 4.615 à ¯Ã¢ ¿Ã¢ ½ 10㠯⠿⠽㠯⠿â ½ Be that as it may, this worth is constantly adjusted to one huge figure (consequently, so is the normal worth) giving †à ¯Ã¢ ¿Ã¢ ½ 0.2 s. 6. This strategy was utilized to get the standard deviation of the remainder of the four midpoints too. * The quantity of moles of the fluid contained in the drop was determined by the recipe = Number of moles = . The relative molar masses of the four fluids were taken from writing esteems †Water †18 ; Glycerine †92 ; Ethanol †46 and Ethylene Glycol †62. (www.wikipedia.com) * The quantity of particles present in the drop was discovered by utilizing Avogadro’s recipe which states †Number of atoms = Number of moles of the substance à ¯Ã¢ ¿Ã¢ ½ (6.023 à ¯Ã¢ ¿Ã¢ ½ 10㠯⠿⠽㠯⠿â ½) Information preparing †Diagram 1 †This diagram gives us two things †the mass of the fluid drop just as the quantity of atoms each drop contains †of four unique fluids, which are put on the X pivot. Looking at this chart, and writing esteems, we can see there is a circuitous connection between the mass of the drop and the quantity of atoms. This relationship is in particular influenced by the relative molar mass (RMM) of the fluid. A higher RMM implies a lesser number of moles in a given volume, as is found on account of glycerine, where the quantity of atoms apparently is generally lesser when contrasted with its mass; and different qualities. This implies glycerine’s atoms are substantial, enormous or increasingly thick. While on account of water, the quantity of atoms supposedly is a lot higher as looked at its mass †which proposes that water has a lower RMM, generally, and henceforth is â€Å"lighter†, or littler, in general. This chart likewise shows us irregular outcomes with respect to the mass of the ethylene glycol drop. In fact, the ethylene glycol drop ought to have a more noteworthy mass as when contrasted with ethanol, as it has a more noteworthy RMM (esteem got from writing information) and a lesser number of atoms. This could have been because of blunders in the volume of the fluid drop (for instance), which have been clarified in the assessment. End †In this way, we can finish up by expressing that the speculation has been refuted for example as the relative atomic mass of a fluid increments, or the mass of the fluid drop builds, the quantity of particles it contains diminishes. This is on the grounds that the relative molar mass is a proportion of the mass of one mole of a substance (comparative with 1/12 of the mass of carbon 12), and one mole of any substance comprises of a similar number of atoms †6.023 à ¯Ã¢ ¿Ã¢ ½ 10㠯⠿⠽㠯⠿â ½. Be that as it may, one mole of a substance may vary in mass from one mole of another substance. This is exclusively a direct result of the mass of the particles contained in that one mole of the substance. A compound which has I) numerous particles ii) substantial iotas (in one atom), will have a higher relative molar mass than an atom of a compound which has lesser molecules or lighter ones (or both). In this analysis, we are not estimating the quantity of particles in a single mole of these for substances, yet in one drop. thus, the volume stays consistent here. Subsequently, the main way a drop of a substance (of a similar volume as the other three drops) will have more number of atoms than some other will be by the fluid having a lower RMM, with the goal that increasingly number of particles wou

To what Extent are New Technologies and Organized Crime Linked

Data advancements and sorted out wrongdoing The criminal equity framework keeps on being attacked as the general public is scrutinizing a definitive answer for the expanded crime percentages on the planet today. Regardless of the way that, jails have been stuffed with criminal everything being equal, the crime percentages have appeared to be additionally on the expansion (Navarro, 2007).Advertising We will compose a custom exposition test on To what Extent are New Technologies and Organized Crime Linked? explicitly for you for just $16.05 $11/page Learn More For this explanation, the far reaching question is, can the present patterns in innovation get vital changes battling wrongdoing? The truth of the matter is that, rise of data innovation has added to increment in crime percentages yet be that as it may, it has likewise empowered the criminal equity to battle against wrongdoing in a major manner. In this time of globalization, examination of the crimes and elaborative disclosure o f the happenings to this subject of wrongdoing is exceptionally hard without coordination of the logical and innovative wonder and the general use of data innovation. There are three significant issues in the appraisal of the wrongdoing and innovation which will shape the premise of our contention in this examination paper; the degree of data innovation that is utilized by the law authorization officials in lessening wrongdoing, the innovation that is being utilized by the crooks packs, and the degree of control or observing controlled to the utilization of innovation, for example, PC by the lawbreakers (Martin, 2005). It is no uncertainty that data innovation is an impacting element or device prompting progressively wild crimes in spite of the fact that then again it has likewise made a decent road that is being utilized as a device of battling every single crime over the globe. For a more extensive comprehension, we will talk about how data innovation has added to increment in wro ngdoing while then again, we will likewise audit how data innovation has skewer headed the battle against wrongdoing. Data innovation as a device that encourages in the battle against wrongdoing Since the rise of data innovation, the cutting edge innovation has filled in as a device of implementing the law by upgrading safety efforts through delivering of electronic cards, creating of databases, age of computerized information cards utilized for banks exchanges, an elaborative web search tool for inward and outside issues and consequently guaranteeing that crooks don't get a simple access to such framework particularly to foundations, for example, the bank which needs elevated level of security( Maguire, Morgan, and Reiner, 2007). Through the elevated level of mechanical and changes, there has been a great deal of progress that empowers adaptable approaches to follow or screen various exercises executed by various individuals over the globe. Such case can be clarified by watching th e all around evolved FBI framework that empowers analytical officials to screen exercises of various crooks networks by having a direct encounter of how data between different sources are being traded and henceforth allowing the FBI office a chance to identify any dubious activities.Advertising Looking for article on criminology? Through such innovation, the officials can recognize famous groups of hoodlums, for example, fear based oppressor bunches amo ng others (Department of resistance, 2010). Moreover, the government officials are additionally ready to utilize data innovation to peruse arranged data from various frameworks by utilizing extraordinary programming and subsequently they are in a situation to be in front of the hoodlums since through such ways, they can get educated regarding arranged wrongdoings. A genuine case of such software’s is the â€Å"magic Lantern† (Department of resistance, 2010) which sends infections to the presumed lawbreakers through messages and when the focused on client opens the specific email, the product becomes dynamic and afterward it creates a correspondence arrange between the FBI server PC and the suspect’s PC (Department of barrier, 2010). In spite of the fact that, this innovation has been censured as encroachment of individual security, the officials contend that the constitution awards such government official the option to convey examination in such manners. Anothe r mechanical change that battles crimes is the utilization of mobile phones devices as a ready framework. Today, the are thousands instances of engine vehicle robbery, thievery cases among different mischief’s in the general public, however with the utilization of data innovation a vehicle proprietor or home proprietor can have the option to get live alarms from their mobile phones about any dubious movement. Such occurrence can be shown by the utilization of telephone to follow a taken vehicle. Aside from the utilization of a telephone as innovation to control vehicle robbery cases, numerous data innovation organizations have developed coming about to a radical decrease of the vehicle burglary cases. At the point when this occurs, the caution will alarm the proprietor organization who can stop the car’s motor by utilization of codes and once the motor has been halted, the organization is likewise ready to find the situation of the vehicle by utilization of satellite utilizing cutting edge innovation (Department of protection, 2010). With the presentation of interpersonal organization, for example, face book, my space, twitter among others, the war against wrongdoing has had a major lift. In the turn of 21st century, the data innovation has incredibly improved and changed to a degree that it has gotten extremely fundamental in differing ways, one such example is how individuals are utilizing the data innovation to convey. Among the numerous informal organizations is the face-book network that ha s become exceptionally well known having a large number of devotees over the planet. At the point when you acknowledge a companion demand in your face-book account, it is almost certain you simply acknowledge a FBI official as your new face-book companion. Today, the insightful officials are utilizing the various informal organizations to complete requests on crimes, track suspects the world over. With the rise of interpersonal organization, for example, face-book, the battle against wrongdoing has gotten simpler since it is anything but difficult to note suspects by checking announcements, remarks and other important data on their dividers (Nasaw, 2010). Aside from this, recognizable proof has likewise become simpler particularly that individuals ordinarily transfer their photographs in their records and subsequently making such photographs to be available by the general population (Nasaw, 2010). In US the FBI specialists have depended particularly on the interpersonal organization s in trucking criminal by getting to a recently altered area known as â€Å"utility in criminal cases† (Nasaw, 2010). In this specific area, the officials can be to filter suspect’s profiles in an advancement to find out ones aim, position the suspect’s area, or even indentify his accomplices (Nasaw, 2010). In spite of the fact that, the strategy of face book account doesn't permit clients to make counterfeit records, the administration insightful division has been given the selective option to grow such records which encourages them to function as covert operators. Dissimilar to in the past when police used to watch the roads, today’s period of cutting edge data innovation has empowered police watching to be simpler and consequently the battle against wrongdoing has moved to an unheard of level. With the utilization of data innovation, cop don't need to watch lanes anything else, rather the utilization of data innovation, for example, utilization of camc order is the best other option (Newburn, 2007).Advertising Searching for article on criminology? Then again, camcorder introduced at the high posts would consistently empower the journalists to watch happenings at a specific zone before sending the police and different officials for activity. For example, if a mishap occurs, the reconnaissance police can make an earlier move. Above all, the camcorder can likewise be utilized as a wellspring of proof in the court in indentifying lawbreakers. A genuine model where a reconnaissance camera can be utilized in court as an ID device is the point at which a camcorder is introduced in the city, workplaces and outside a bank where it is utilized to indentify burglars or snatchers and it is normally introduced to the court as a wellspring of proof which has helped ordinarily (Martin, 2005). The Pre-Med Student’s Guide to Shadowing a Doctor

Shadowing a doctor refers to time spent observing a clinician as they see patients, perform procedures, etc. While you may be familiar with what a doctor does by your personal experience at the doctor’s office, or while being hospitalized, the opportunity to shadow a professional gives you a close-up behind-the-scenes look at the clinical experience. This may include intimate patient interactions and learning about the roles of others who interact with the physician.   Not all schools require reported shadowing from applicants. However, shadowing experiences can be very unique and worth the time and effort. Shadowing gives a glimpse into the everyday experience of a physician and familiarizes you with the clinic or hospital setting. This experience may differ depending on who you shadow, where you shadow, and when you choose to shadow. Learn tips on finding the right doctor to shadow, what to expect, and how to make the most of your shadowing experience. Finding a Doctor to Shadow In preparing for your shadowing experience, the first task is to find the right doctor to shadow. Consider following these preliminary steps: Do Your Research Research different specialties that interest you. Have you always been interested in women’s health? Does the idea of a fast-paced, dynamic environment like the emergency room intrigue you? Additionally, look into the different environments where your shadowing experience can take place. For instance, will you be observing in a big, teaching hospital among medical students, residents, and fellows—or in a small community clinic? Make a Connection Now that you have become familiar with medical specialties and practice environments, it is time to make the connection with a doctor to shadow.   Utilize your own resources. Your primary care doctor, professors, or other mentors may  help to connect you with someone within your scope of interest. Consider mentor programs, pre-med programs, and pre-health sciences clubs at your university. It is possible that these groups may have connections to several doctors and hospitals in the area who enjoy showing pre-med students around. You can also try reaching out to a local physician by cold calling the office of interest. In the initial email or phone conversation, begin by introducing yourself, making sure to include your name, major, and the school you attend. Let the person know how you obtained their contact information. Then, explain why you are interested in shadowing them. Try contacting one  physician at a time, and do not be afraid to send a kind, follow-up email if you do not receive a response within a week. Set a Time Once you are able to connect with the physician, start to brainstorm times that will work best with their schedule. Depending on the setting, and even day, the length of time you spend shadowing the physician can vary. You may plan to shadow for two to three hours at a time for a couple days throughout the week, or even plan to shadow the doctor for a full day on one occasion. Shadowing can take a good chunk of time out of the day, so it might work best with your schedule to plan to shadow over a holiday or summer break. Depending on the institution and patient population, you may need to complete a background check and additional paperwork.   What to Expect When Shadowing Think of a shadowing experience as a unique version of a lecture. A typical shadowing experience will involve quite a bit of time observing and listening. You will likely follow the physician around, from room to room, as they see their patients for the day. If the patient agrees, you will get a chance to be in the room during an otherwise private conversation between the patient and the physician. You will likely stand, or sit, just to the periphery so as to not interfere in the interaction between the patient and physician.   Pay attention to the subtle interactions between the patient and the doctor, like body language and tone. These cues provide important lessons. You might even have a brief moment of interaction with the patient, but this should be prompted by the physician or patient.  Although you are present primarily for observation, the physician may engage you during the visit or afterwards to explain the patient’s case. Also, do not be afraid to ask the physician questions, preferably after the patient is gone.   You will be interacting with various people, including patients and other medical staff, so it is important to dress professionally. The clinic or hospital might have a dress code for volunteers or students who are shadowing. Typically, students who shadow dress in business casual professional attire. Dress pants and a blouse or dress shirt are appropriate. Some students opt to wear ties as well, but a blazer or sport coat is unnecessary. Wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes that will allow you to stand for extended periods of time, as necessary. If you are completely unsure of what to wear on your day of shadowing, it is okay to ask the physician you will be shadowing for some pointers.   Tips for a Successful Shadowing Experience   Now that you understand ways to arrange an optimal shadowing experience, and what to expect while shadowing, keep in mind the following four tips for a successful and informative shadowing experience: Prepare It is not a bad idea to get familiar with the specialty you will be shadowing before the big day. It might help to look up the physician you will be shadowing for information on the education they obtained to be in their specialty. Your preparation should give you great questions to ask during your shadowing day and will help you to understand the path you might take to follow in their steps. Take Notes Leave your phone tucked away and have a notebook handy instead. Between patient visits, jot notes of interesting things you observe or any questions you may want to ask the physician or look into at a later time. You might also want to write a short summary of your shadowing experience at the end of the day, noting who, where, and for how long you shadowed. This might come in useful during your application and interview process. Ask Questions Questions, questions, questions! Be inquisitive about what you are observing. The shadowing experience is a learning experience. If you are unsure, or better yet, if you would like to know more, feel free to ask. Physicians usually enjoy teaching, both patients and students. Questions also show you are paying attention and engaged. Just be mindful of the appropriate time to ask them, and don’t interrupt the physician-patient interaction. Maintain the Relationship After the experience, it is always appropriate to write a thank you note to the person who gave you an opportunity to learn from them. Make sure to follow up with the physician and consider maintaining a longer-term professional relationship with them. They may be willing to help you find other physicians to shadow, may be a contact for a letter of recommendation, or may be a great resource for ongoing advice as you continue your journey into medicine. Conclusion A successful shadowing experience is an exciting step in learning if a career in medicine is right for you. Your time observing and interacting with patients can help give you ideas of what interests you and drives you towards this particular field. It may also steer you away from areas of medicine or practice environments that don’t appeal to you. Shadowing is a fun learning opportunity that will give you a close-up of a particular specialty and the intimate interactions between a patient and a physician that are a foundation to the profession.   Source Association of American Medical Colleges. The Scientific Theory Of Evolution - 1126 Words

Since the beginning of time, there have been hundreds if not thousands of myths, legends, and beliefs of how the human race has come to be. Over the past hundred years, once thought to be candid beliefs are being pushed around by the scientific theory of evolution. The Bible was written over 1500 years ago without any scientific backing. Because of its widespread popularity, most people believe it is correct. When a majority of people believe in something most tend to stay and not wonder off because of what people will think of them if they do not believe in the same things. While the theory of evolution has scientific evidence and is relatively new in comparison, it only has around fifteen percent of the United States. Most will turn†¦show more content†¦This leads to the first point, Charles Darwin s theory of evolution. His theory states that organism change over a long period of time making them more suited for their environment. When an organism has a trait that makes it more likely to survive in its environment while the other organisms die off and are not able to reproduce is called natural selection. Today there are many signs that a person has, that show that humans have evolved from a very early stage of man. The very early stage of man was a bipedal ape-like creature that lived in Africa. Archaeologist found a skeletal structure of what is know to be the oldest know finding of a prehistoric human, lucy. Lucy was found on November 24, 1974. She is around three-point-one eight million years old according to carbon dating. One of the major push factors that show that lucy is a common ancestor of man is that it can walk on legs. â€Å"As in a modern human’s skeleton, Lucy s bones are rife with evidence clearly pointing to bipedality. Her distal femur shows several traits unique to bipedality. The shaft is angled relative to the condyles (knee joint surfaces), which allows bipeds to balance on one leg at a time during locomotion. There is a prominent patellar lip to keep the patella (knee cap) from dislocating due to this angle. Her condyles are large and are thus adapted to handling the added weight that results from shifting from four limbs to two† (Michael Hagelberg). According to the bible, the

George Washington Essay free essay sample

As a soldier George Washington demonstrated enough courage to become the commander of the Virginia troops that defended the states western frontier during the French and Indian War. He was also a successful tobacco planter at his family plantation. In 1787 Washingtons concerns about the crumbling of the nation prompted him to serve as a delegate to the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia. He presided over the convention and his support was very important to the ratification of the newly proposed Constitution. In 1789, Washington became the first president of the United States. He served two terms guiding the new government through the organization of the executive branch, founding the nations capital, and opening the west for settlement. George Washingtons stance toward slavery changed as he grew older. George Washington was a slave owner himself since the age of 11. Like a Virginia plant owner he lived off of slavery and his views were very conventional. We will write a custom essay sample on George Washington Essay or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page In letters he is shown to be humane and caring towards his slaves but in others shown as a Virginia Slave owner. By the time of his presidency, he mostly believed that slavery was wrong and against the principles of the new nation. As President, Washington did not lead a public fight against slavery because he believed it would tear the new nation apart. Abolition had many opponents especially in the South. George Washington feared that if he took such a public stand, the southern states would withdraw from the Union. He thought he had worked too hard to build the country and then risk tearing it apart. In his private life, Washington could and did lead by example. In his will, he arranged for all of the slaves he owned to be freed after the death of his wife, Martha. He also left instructions for the continued care and education of some of his former slaves, support and training for all of the children until they came of age and continuing support for the elderly. In 1792, George Washington exercised the first presidential veto of a Congressional bill. The bill introduced a new plan for dividing seats in the House of Representatives that would have increased the amount of seats for northern states. In the end, after consulting with his cabinet, Washington, who came from the southern state of Virginia, decided that the plan was unconstitutional because, in providing for additional representatives for some states, it would have introduced a number of representatives higher than that in the Constitution. George Washington believed that all human beings possess natural rights. He believed the purpose of the government was to protect the rights of individuals. The challenge of human government is that the government must be able to control the governed, but at the same time it must control itself. In order to ensure that government protects, but does not threaten, individual rights, the government must be limited by a constitution or written law. As a private citizen, Commander in Chief, and President of the United States, George Washington repeatedly demonstrated his respect for the principle of the rule of law.

Construction Management - Finance and Risk Management Essay - 1

Construction Management - Finance and Risk Management - Essay Example In the first half of 2013 the country experienced GDP growth rate of 9.4%. There was a significant growth in the construction sector at 17.7%. This growth in the construction industry in noted due to the fact that about 2000 new facilities were being built in the country. However, it also needs to be noted that the construction industry is mainly dependent on the spending by the government as there is very limited spending in construction industry by people. This is due to the fact that priority of construction of private housing is low. It is seen that the construction industry in any country has a very important role to play in the economic development of any country and also as a supplier of the physical infrastructure of the country. After Turkmenistan broke free from Russia, the government has tried to build the physical infrastructure problems that aim at reconstructing Turkmenistan. This has led to the fact that GDP growth in the construction industry was 2.2 times. However, t here are several risk factors that are associated with any industry. Any industry should make policies that are associated towards managing those risks. The various risk factors or the factors that are associated with uncertainty are related to implementation of new technology, availability of workforce that is experienced, availability of timely payments by the government, bureaucratic risks etc. There are other factors that are related to failure of being able to meet the deadlines. All these factors ultimately translate to risk for the construction industry. Now the question that arises in this context is related to the risk management practices that are implemented to counter the risk. The paper analyzes the risk management methods and the perception of risk management and financial management methods by the people. I think that whether it is the government or the public or the company or individual everyone

The foundation of football Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

The foundation of football - Essay Example With regards to the origination of this sport, the other most important person that needs to be acknowledged is William Ebb Ellis. Mary Bellis-author of â€Å"History of American Football† on about.com noted that Ellis was the first person documented for picking up the ball during a soccer game and running with it in 1823. Ellis breached the rules of the game and amidst all of that he created a new game now known as American Football. The invention of this sport saw attempts to write to write the rules in 1867. He pulled some characteristics from previous sports such as rugby and soccer to create American Football. Some of these changes as reported Bellis include: 1. one side retained undisputed possession of the ball, until that side gives up the ball as a result of its own violations 2. the line of scrimmage 3. 11 on a team instead of 15 4. created the quarter-back and center positions 5. forward pass 6. standardized the scoring system, numerical scoring 7. created the safet y, interference, penalties, and the neutral zone American Football In the past, football teams consisted of around 25 players on each side and negligent and neglectful rules made it an excessively violent sport, resulting in serious injuries to players and even the deaths of some. With reference to waltercamp.org, Camp brought some amount of discipline to the game and served on the rules committee from his college days until 1925 when he died. Later Camp devised some insightful tactics from plays and restricting the game to eleven members per team. This then gave the teams an advantage of utilizing various strategies throughout play to become victors. Camp then made further innovations to the game which includes system of downs and yards-to-go. This idea was preconceived from a game between Princeton and Yale. Princeton was determined and convinced that within the rules of the game, they could sit on it and not move it for an entire half. The misunderstanding of the Princeton and Ya le game influenced the use of the Gridiron System of lines and lavish marks on the field. Despite the myriad of similarities to Rugby, the methods of scoring didn’t work well with American Football. As such Walter Camp devised a scoring sytem which continues to be the basis of the game. Camp continued to contribute to the game he helped create, even contributing to the establishment of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), but the violence of the game continued to bog it down. In 1905, so many deaths occurred on the field that then President Theodore Roosevelt, a proponent of strenuous exercise, made it known that collegiate football would have to be made safer or it would be outlawed. So in 1906, Camp's American Football Rules Committee adopted several rules that made the game safer – among them, the adoption of the forward pass as an acceptable method of moving the ball down field. While Camp never played for a professional team, without his innovation s and continued support of the game it's entirely possible it never would have existed at all, particularly since the National Football League initially used collegiate rules to govern play. Rules of American Football The rules state that the game has 11 players who can field at any time and the main of the purpose of the game is to move the ball towards the opposition's end zone and ultimately into their end zone (a touchdown). This is achieved by either running with the ball until

Consumer Preference About Different Branded Sports Shoes Essay Example for Free

Consumer Preference About Different Branded Sports Shoes Essay Statement about the problem This project takes a look in various kinds of Merchandising activities, Market Share of different sports shoes and various Sales Promotion schemes, which are followed in the Sports shoes industry. India is one of few battlegrounds in the world where there is neck-to-neck competition between the three. The companies claim to be in number one sport coating the data produced by two different marketing research companies. In the 1980s, Adidas sneakers became popular amongst teenagers and young men. The Adidas sneaker was popularized by the Run DMC song My Adidas and became a huge fashion trend. The Tapie affair the history of the company as presented by its official web site is incomplete, perhaps because it is indirectly linked to financial scandals. After a period of serious trouble. The death of Adolf Dasslers son Horst Dassler in 1987, the company was bought in 1990 by Bernard Tapie, for 1. 6 billion French francs ($320 million), which Tapie borrowed. Tapie was at the time a famous specialist of rescuing bankrupt companies, a business on which he built his fortune. Nike is the worlds #1 manufacturer and marketer of athletic footwear and apparel. Almost out of the blue, the company established itself as one of the worlds most familiar brands during the 1980s and 1990s. As familiar as a Coke bottle or Big Mac, the Nike swoosh logo came to symbolize not just sports culture, but street culture, as the appeal of the star players who endorsed the brand was carried onto city streets. The approach of the new century set Nike new problems. Trainers went (briefly) out of fashion, economic slowdown and labor problems hit Asian performance. But the group has bounced back, retaining its iron grip on the sporting apparel sector and still undisputed leader in sports-oriented street wear. Reebok is the worlds third-largest maker of sneakers, athletic shoes and sports apparel. Goods are sold under the brands Reebok, Rockport and Greg Norman Collection.

Csr in Inidan Banking Sector Essay

State regulatory bodies, NGOs, media, customers have significantly addressed social responsibility issues in banking sector. International organization such as World Bank also exerts pressures on banks to analyze social and environmental risk involved in projects to be financed. In addition the reputation and resultant profitability of an organization are greatly effected by their CSR activities. Researchers have found a positive correlation between CSR and financial performance of the organization. Around the globe, a good commitment is being shown by the banking industry to CSR principles. Banks are showing conscious efforts to reduce the regulatory actions by depicting a good environmental citizen image. Banking in India has originated in the last decades of the 18th century with the establishment of General Bank of India in 1786, and the Bank of Hindustan set up in 1870 (both banks are now defunct). At present, the commercial banking structure in India consists of Scheduled Commercial Banks & Unscheduled Banks. Banking in India has evolved in four distinct phases: Foundation phase, Expansion phase, consolidation phase and Reforms phase. An integrated approach of combining CSR with the ultimate customer satisfaction is being adopted by Indian banking industry voluntarily. An attempt has been initiated to ensure social responsible behavior of banking sector in a more systematic manner. Public and private sector banks have common thrust areas which are children welfare, community welfare, education, environment, healthcare, poverty eradication, rural development, vocational training, women’s empowerment, protection to girl child, employment. The core areas for reporting CSR activities are slightly different in both public and private sector banks. The major areas investigated for reporting CSR activities in public and private sector banks is shown by the Figure 1 and Figure 2 respectively below: X axis in the below charts represents the fields of CSR activities and Y axis represents the number of banks working in the particular fields out of the selected sample. Figure 1: Core thrust areas for reported CSR activities in public sector banks Source: 1-IJAEBM-Volume-No-1-Issue-No-2-CSR-Practices-and-CSR-Reporting-in-Indian-Banking-Sector-058-066 As per the chart above rural development has been the ost actively participated activity for Indian public sector banks. Besides, their primary focus has been on gender equality through women empowerment. Figure 2: Core thrust areas for reported CSR activities in private sector banks Source: 1-IJAEBM-Volume-No-1-Issue-No-2-CSR-Practices-and-CSR-Reporting-in-Indian-Banking-Sector-058-066 Enhancing the level of education and employment has been the major areas for reporting CSR activities i n Indian private sector bank. Following are community welfare, programs for child welfare and protection of environment. 3. 1 RBI guidelines on CSR: On December 20, 2007 RBI circulated a notice for all the scheduled commercial banks to highlight the role of banks in corporate social responsibility, with title â€Å"Corporate Social Responsibility, Sustainable Development and Non-Financial Reporting – Role of Banks†. Major issues discussed in the notice were regarding – 1. Corporate Social Responsibility 2. Sustainable Development 3. Non-Financial Reporting Talking about the corporate social responsibility program RBI followed many international initiatives to highlight the importance of the notice like – 1. United Nations Environment Program Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) 2. They can achieve the mission by supporting initiatives that are * Cost effective * Capable of large-scale replication * Measurable * Having potential for both near and long-term impact. * Banks must provide appropriate training to its employees on environmental and social risks in lending to ensure that climate change is taken into account in corporate banking decisions. 6. Conclusion The CSR moment in the banking sector is slowing picking the pace. Many banks are showing their inclination and interest towards the CSR activities and believe it as their social responsibility. On the other side CSR reporting practices are far from satisfaction. There are hardly few banks which report their activities on triple bottom line principles. The lack of uniform standards for rating CSR practices leads to problem in comparison of corporate houses and difficulty in determining the CSR rating. In spite of the slow adaptation of CSR reporting practices in India, it is predicted to pick up a great pace in near future. The need for enacting some stringent regulatory provisions to ensure adherence to social responsibility principles is necessary. https://ru.scribd.com/doc/19779226/CSR-PROGRAM-IN-BANKING-SECTOR-AN-INDIAN-PERSPECTIVE http://www.karmayog.org/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reserve_Bank_of_India https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corporate_social_responsibility

Why I Want to Study Law at University of Pennsylvania Essay

I see the world through different eyes than my peers.
